JADE BERNADO

“I still can’t believe that I have won.”

What motivated you to enter the Face of JRP competition?
I was motivated by the opportunity and desire to grow and learn new things. My family are so supportive of me; they have always been there for me and drive me to keep going. I couldn’t think of a better source of motivation and inspiration.

How old were you when you became interested in modeling?
I was 9 years old when I started a modeling workshop, but as a kid, I was easily distracted by playing with toys. I resumed the workshops when I was in high school. That was when I realized that I really loved modeling and decided to pursue it further.

How did you find out about JRP?
I found out about John Robert Powers when I was a kid. My dad and I used to pass through the Quezon Ave. branch and I told myself that someday I would be able to study there.

How do you feel about winning the contest?
I can’t explain the feeling, I still can’t believe that I have won.

Are you excited to begin your Face of JRP Transformation with the personal development course?
Yes, I am, because I love learning, experiencing something new and meeting new people.

Who inspires you, or who do you look up to as a role model?
I look up to my parents because they are the ones who taught me values, the ones who taught me to never give up and the ones who cheer me up whenever I feel down.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I see myself as a woman who loves her profession. A woman who is passionate about what she is doing and living her life to the fullest. I want to work in a place where I’ll have the opportunity to develop my skills, take on interesting projects, and work with people I can really learn from. I see myself climbing the ladder of success and being financially stable.

 AJ DURANA

“I’m just a simple boy with a simple dream.”

What motivated you to enter the Face of JRP competition?
My childhood dream of becoming a Celebrity-Engineer is what motivated me to join this competition. Taking my Civil Engineering course now, I wanted to enter and win this competition because I want to pursue my dream.

How old were you when you became interested in modeling?
When I was fifteen years old,I wanted to do what people do in fashion shows, magazines and on television. I tried it and I felt comfortable being on stage and in front of the camera.

How did you find out about JRP?
I knew about John Robert Powers Manila from ads and billboards. I learnt that JRP is an international learning center that enhances personality development, confidence, speaking skills and a lot more.

How do you feel about winning the contest?
I am very happy. I didn’t expect it because just like the other contestants I’m just a simple boy with a simple dream. Before the competition, some people underestimated me. They told me that I had no chance of winning because I’m not that tall and I don’t have the “model” body type. So when I won, I felt so blessed. People at school and around my house were congratulating me. I even got messages from people I don’t know.

Are you excited to begin your Face of JRP Transformation with the personal development course?
Yes I am very excited because I know it will help me improve the way I express myself. I know I can use it as an advantage in fulfilling my chosen career.

Who inspires you, or who do you look up to as a role model?
God Almighty, my very supportive family and friends, and also the Pinoy Big Brother Big Winner, Slater Young. Slater Young inspires me a lot because he has a successful showbiz career but at the same time he’s flourishing in the construction world.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I see myself as a famous celebrity-engineer who doesn’t just make his supporters happy and inspired, but at the same time helps their country to develop and compete economically and globally.
